Frowning, Tessa punched her sister in the arm. "Are you completely stupid? How often do you take an interest in a guy? In the line of business you're in, don't you think that by now you'd be able to tell the difference between a genuinely nice guy and a guy pretending to be nice?"
Sitting back, she thought about her sister's situation. Although she was more protective of her own heart these days, it didn't mean she didn't believe that true love wasn't out there. She just thought it wasn't so fairytale-esque as she used to think. "If you find the right guy? The way you were with guys wont matter. If he's the right guy? He'll help change you for the better and make you a better girl to date. Don't you think he should have some sort of say in this, instead of doing all of it for him? Give him the chance to see the real you. I promise you Scarlie, if he's the right guy? Everything will be different from what you know."
Sipping on her wine, she smiled and giggled a little. "Scary thought, isn't it? Now do you understand why I was the way I was? Relationships are scary and they're even more so when you realize you're in love. Even more scary when you don't know how the other person feels. Take it from my personal experience. Getting hurt sucks, but never letting a single soul in hurts worse. I got hurt, but I wouldn't trade that experience in for the world."
