Lucas was slightly shocked at the sudden contact, but he took it in stride and slipped an arm casually around her shoulders. He tried to soothingly rub her shoulder, but he wasn't a very comforting person in the first place. "Just tell him you fucked up and didn't mean to say no."
He mouthed wordlessly for a second, and then snapped his jaw shut as he attempted to come up with an answer. It was one that required thinking - something which Lucas had been cleverly avoiding, lately. Slowly but surely, he shook his head as a refusal. "No, I wouldn't.. it was a risk I took, and we were in love, I know that much. And she was completely worth it. I think it's more of a matter of finding someone you can't live without, and knowing that they aren't yours would eat you up inside because you need them, y'know?" And for once, Lucas was believing in true love, but also doubting it because of his own situation.
