It's not like he had much choice in the matter at the moment. For one, Marlene might start thinking too much about going and end up deciding against it. That was not happening. As much as he wished otherwise she had to go, he'd at least gotten that far in his thought process and by the looks of things it was working to his advantage. Realising just how much he was going to miss her... could definitely wait until later. "Huh. I thought it was the only one," nothing like teasing to take your mind off other thoughts.
With a hint of a smile he let his arm fall to wrap around her gently. She really was tiny. When she spoke Nate's smile grew some, hey, he knew it was true. "I know," he said simply, there was no reason in denying it! "Well, there are many things but for one you'd be very, very bored," yeah, he was trying really hard to stay away from the fact that she would be without him for a long time. Guh.
"Of course not. It's a good thing I'm going." After that he nodded his head a bit, clearing his throat just a little before continuing. "That's good, I'd rather not have issues with flights. I'll have to see the show at some point, too," he added as an after thought. How could he forget that detail? And talking about college was never a good subject, so his face fell a bit but he shrugged it off. "Probably. But right now I'm not feeling very thankful. I'd rather put it off."
