And now she was talking about staying. Ugh. This whole having emotions thing royally sucked sometimes. He really did have half a mind to just turn around and ask her to stay now that she had mentioned it but he also knew that if she didn't want to go? Then she wouldn't. There would be no issue. And something as big as this could not be passed up, especially if she was considering it. "You can't do that," he muttered, shaking his head as he finally looked up at her again. "I wish you could but I'm not going to let you do that." See? He could be a good guy. Even when it sucked beyond belief.
There was a hint of a cringe when she mentioned him being alone. God, that was not easy to hear and making it seem just that bit more real. "It'd probably be better than listening to a baby cry out its lungs every night," he shrugged. Besides, that did mean he could steal time with her while he could.
