Wearing your heart on your sleeve? Yeah, that sucked. It sucked a lot. She was an emotional person to begin with, but the fact she displayed those emotions so simply and easily? Blegh. That and the fact she couldn't lie, could rarely hide anything... sigh. It wasn't fair.
It was true. Had he put his arm around her? She'd have gotten comfortable far too quickly and start to fall asleep. Again. She kind of wished he had, but no. Sleep? Not a good idea right now. Besides, she was feeling a little too antsy and jumpy to do anything. "It's a good and a bad thing, I guess," she started out slowly. "And I haven't decided what I want to do yet." She looked back at her lap then, frowning slightly. ".... yeah," she said softly, her free hand toying with the hem of her skirt as she nodded. "It's about that. I got -- I got the part. Which is the good part, obviously, and I'm happy that I did. It's a great opportunity and the sort of thing I've always been working towards. It's just..." She trailed off and shifted her weight around. "I'd have to leave for a bit if I do it."
... that'd come out a lot more awkwardly than she intended and she hadn't been able to mention just how long she'd be gone, but she'd have to anyway and that would just make matters worse.
