To say that Marlene was stressed and rapidly approaching completely burning out was to say the very least. Never the sort to take things lightly or easily, she'd thrown herself into all sorts of work and, as usual, was too stubborn to back out or admit she needed help or anything of that nature. No, she insisted over and over again that she was fine and would be fine, though that was getting more and more difficult to do. Not that she expected people to believe her in the first place but... meh. It was easy for her to fake and pretend and at least have them semi-convinced she was fine. Fact of the matter was, she had so much more going on than people realized, decisions to make, things to fret over, and... well. Life in general.
For example, the fact she was seriously considering not going to college that upcoming fall and taking a job with a touring company instead. Not exactly the best conversation starter, was it?
Today, she'd gone home with Barbie after school and rehearsals to relax a bit at her place. She didn't have anything going on that evening and she didn't feel like going home... so, here she was. It was nice to be here for a change, though dealing with Barbie's bitchfits and ranting? Not so much on the fun side. Unfortunately, she didn't dare tell Barbie this was all her fault, not yet anyway, so she stayed quiet on the issue for the most part. Glancing over at the blonde, she propped herself onto her elbows and tilted her head to the side, brow quirked just a bit. "How many days?"
