"I'm... I'm not ... lacking," she protested. It was second nature for her to try and defend herself. That just sounded so... horrible. While she was definitely curious and wanting to step up her game she didn't like to think that she was lame in the sack. Surely Ed didn't think that. He always seemed quite pleased when they... made love. He always acted like he enjoyed it.
Another bright blush covered her cheeks, neck and shoulders when he complimented her. At least, she thought it was a compliment. Some girls might have thought it crass or rude for him to say such things but she was slightly flattered and largely confused all at the same time. Her mother was always telling her how plain she was and how she could stand to lose a good five or ten pounds. Needless to say, a small praise went a long way with her.
She was a little hesitant about the book he was offering her but she took it, thinking that Matt definitely hadn't led her astray with Blow Him Away.
"Nothing has happe..." she began protesting again but then he was out with his analogy and she frowned.
"He's not going to be playing college ball anymore," she admitted, obviously displeased with how well his words matched her situation. "He's been drafted. He'll be playing for New England."
After his initial introduction, it probably wasn't smart to agree to a cup of coffee but if he could somehow make this not seem as bad, she was all for that.
"Coffee and talking," she agreed. "We'll not be taking a trip to the bathroom." That was her attempt at a joke and she gave a small, nervous laugh to show that she was kidding.
