Who: Amanda Lofton (Rajah) and Andrew Fuller (The Baker) What: She decides they need to talk... not that she's figured out what about yet Where: Dairy Queen When: Monday eveningish
Sitting in her jeep in the parking lot of the Dairy Queen, Manda didn't look in the mirror on her visor to see how she looked. She didn't feel the need to touch up any lipstick or any such thing -- mostly because she rarely questioned how good she looked, but also because she wasn't particularly focused on how she looked tonight. Somehow, Manda managed to make even a simple pair of sweats and a zip-up hooded sweatshirt look flattering. Effortlessly.
Instead, she sat, listening to the radio, waiting for her dashboard clock to tick forward. Manda preferred to be a few minutes late than ever be the first one anywhere. There was something in the pit of her stomach that twitched when she was alone, waiting on someone. So, she avoided it.
It occurred to her when she saw Andrew walk through the entrance to the Dairy Queen that she didn't have the faintest idea of what she wanted to talk to him about. But as Ben had told her, she needed to do something before she lost Andrew as a friend completely... even if he was still mad at her, and even if her feelings were still hurt. They were supposed to be best friends, right?
Her tiger self would've been twitching its tail, flicking the end in anticipation. She wasn't on edge, and she wasn't worried... but Manda certainly wasn't sure what to expect. Andrew had agreed to see her, to talk to her. That had to be noteworthy, didn't it?
6:02pm. That was enough of a delay. She pulled her keys from the ignition and slid out of the jeep, then headed inside.
