"Oh, right. It must have slipped my mind. How silly of me to forget," he shot back, his tone light and joking. He took a long sip of his drink as he attention remained riveted on the bull. "If you insist. Go right ahead. Knock 'em dead!" he said to her with a grin as she jumped up and volunteered to go first. Not that he was complaining. He needed to work on his drink a bit more before he would be completely ready for that. So, he watched patiently as Denim spoke to the guy in charge of running the mechanical bull, fingers drumming rhythmically against the glass he held in his hands as he waited for Denim's turn on the bull to start.
Wow, he had to admit, she was actually pretty good at riding the mechanical bull. In fact, she looked perfectly in control as the bull started to move. He watched Denim as she rode the mechanical bull, taking the occasional sip as his drink as he waited to see how long she would last. Wait...if she fell off, that meant he was next, didn't it? Uh oh.
