Alyssa hadn't expected much out of the day when waking up that morning, sure she hoped that a certain someone would call but that was about all she could do. At work she was simply going through the motions of the day, doing her duties as normal until ten am rolled around and she got the most beautiful bouquet of roses she'd ever seen. Immediately her day brightened, the prospect of dinner with him giving her something to look forward to....too bad her sister had different plans.
The instant those flowers hit her desk it was like a hail storm, the work being given to her about three times as much as earlier. More errands, more phone calls, more meetings to set up. Addison had gone completely insane! At a quarter to six in the evening she still hadn't had a lunch break, the only thing keeping her going was the bag of popcorn she was eating when given the smallest opportunity to breath.
It was nearly eight now, and Alyssa hadn't even looked at the clock since seeing that it was almost six without having a break yet. The only thing that brought her out of her work trance was the sudden ringing of her phone, Alyssa jumping in her chair as she picked it up off the desk and looked at the caller ID. "Oh no..." Glancing at the clock on the computer her eyes got wide and she flipped open the phone, "I'm sorry! I'm so sorry River. I swear I didn't know what time it was." Looking on her desk she got a look of disappointment on her face. How was she suppose to meet him for dinner ten minutes ago when there was still at least two hours of work piled on her desk?
