Silence. God, that wasn't doing anything for her in terms of making her feel any less stupid. Gracie kicked the giant backpack on the floor beside her absent-mindedly, then pushed the call button again. "Helloooooo?"
Gracie stuck her thumbs in the pockets of her jeans and wondered what she would do next. She definitely didn't see Spence barrelling toward her at first, and she certainly hadn't been expecting the hug. But Gracie finally saw him, and her stresses melted away. It was definitely Spence, alright. Just a little taller, and with a scruffy face? Heh. It had been a long time.
She rolled up onto the balls of her feet to hug him properly, tightly. Gracie wouldn't admit that part of her was actually scared shitless about being alone in New York, especially after the night she'd just spent in the hostel. Guh. But actually, physically having someone familiar there right in front of her made all the difference.
"Guess I'm at the right place?" she said, pulling back a bit but still keeping her arms loosely around him. "You should probably call your mom more often."
