No matter what Ollie or Robbie would say, Hayden was dead convinced that all of this was her fault. If she hadn't have gone over to get those papers signed, he would never have found out, and he wouldn't have come after her the way he did. Kevin Odell wasn't one to be stopped though, and he would have found a reason to beat the crap out of Robbie, and herself for that matter. But giving him a reason was half of what made her feel so bad. The other half? The fact that it had gotten so bad that her sister was here. Normally, Hayden and Robbie could hold their own against him, if he was drunk. He must not have been this time.
Hayden rarely cried. She was always the type to bite the bullet and just deal with one tragedy to the next, because that seemed to be all her life consisted of. And Robyn's too. They were both pretty tough, hard as nails people, but now? Hayden had been sobbing since she found out what happened. She couldn't bring herself to go in there when they told her she could. She had to have time to compose herself before she saw her. She waited until Xavier and Ollie had seen her, not taking Xavier's dogs back. She could care less about dogs. She was going to see her sister first. She'd just ask if Ollie would do it, or Xavier could. Whichever. She eventually composed herself enough to that she could go in and not look completely lame. She knew Robbie wasn't an idiot, and she would see how red and puffy her eyes were, but at least there would be no tears. She didn't say much to Ollie. Just got up and went in there.
...And that was all working until she went in the room. Seeing Robbie with IVs in her, broken and beat up just broke that resolve. The back of her hand went against her mouth, trying to stiffle a heavy sob, new tears forming and running down her freckled cheeks. She took the few steps towards the other girl slowly, and sat down in the chair next to her bed. She made a move to reach for Robyn's hand, but stopped herself, and just waited for a response. Anything to show that Robyn didn't completely hate her for being so utterly stupid. As much as she would be hurt if she did, she wouldn't be able to blame the girl. Hayden hated Hayden right now.
