"It's not so bad," he answered, though the shiver that ran through his body suggested that he was lying. "Besides, I was sort of hoping you'd help me get warmed up again." For once, that was the truth but he delivered the line in a tone that said he was merely joking with her.
Regardless of it's warmth, he didn't linger in the lab. He'd much rather be back in the comfort of his own dorm room and he quickly suggested that they head out.
As they exited the building, he wrapped a protective arm around her shoulders and steered them toward his place. The pace he set wasn't nearly as quickly as it had been on his way over but the boy certainly didn't dawdle in the cold.
Once they were back in the warmth of his building, he lead her up to his room and opened the door for her. "No place like home, right?" he questioned with a large, charming grin as he motioned for her to enter ahead of him.
Earlier he'd thought the place was a little too quiet but, now, he found he was glad that his roommate had plans of his own.
