Lyla tried to ignore the goosebumps his voice raised on the back of her neck when he answered the phone. It was really unfair that he could have that affect on her and she really needed to ignore it.
"Campus computer lab," she responded with a shrug that he couldn't see. "Because I'm kind of a moron and decided to stay behind and rehearse without checking the weather." Pause. "So I'm kind of.. stuck.. I mean, I'm in the lab, but I don't think I can drive back home in this weather.."
She couldn't come right out and say she wanted to ride out the storms at his place. Nope. That was just.. he'd already done enough for her lately and there were far too many thoughts of just why else she wanted to head over to his place rather than her own that she just should not be having.
