"Yeah," she nodded in agreement. "I was definitely grateful to have an excuse to miss such a gathering."
When he moved over to the food, again, she followed behind him. "You brought me lots of yummy things, didn't you?" she asked, even though she was certain he'd gotten her exactly what she'd asked for.
Lori wrinkled her nose when he mentioned college things. "I've still not decided. I want to be near Chase. I want to be near Jayden. Yet, at the same time, I want to strike out on my own and quite relying on everyone else in my life... you know?" After she spoke, she wrinkled her nose, shook her head and gave a laugh. It was silliness. She really needed to work it all out in her head before she started talking to anyone about it.
"Of course, it's a pleasure to see me," she added with a saucy smile. "Have you looked at me lately? I'm dead sexy... even with this broken arm."
It was innocent flirting. Lori would never seriously do something like that to Jayden, or Chase for that matter, but it was habit to tease Tyler... almost like they were siblings... only less creepy.
