It was an odd time to call, she knew. But she'd been tossing and turning and pacing and God she just couldn't handle it anymore. Her foot had tapped impatiently as the ringing went on and a groan escaped her lips when it went to Ash's voicemail.
Ugh. Just... ugh.
Tossing her phone onto her bed, she rubbed her hands along her face and made a frustrated noise in the back of her throat. But then, then her phone was ringing again and a part of her didn't want to bother with it. Luckily she did and when she realized who it was, she sat on her bed and quickly answered.
Curling her knees to her chest, Marlene hugged them rather tightly, shifting her phone from one ear to the other as she smiled weakly into the phone. After all her venting and frustration earlier, it wasn't until that moment that she realized just how stupid it was. A small sigh of relief escaped her lips as she closed her eyes. "Ashleigh. Hey," she said softly as she tugged on one of her dark curls, her voice a little softer than usual. "I didn't wake you, did I?"
