Ana was definitely happy and it was written all over her. As he drove her home, she was all smiles and quiet conversation. Even in their silences, she didn't feel awkward in the slightest.
When she'd called him earlier in the day, she'd intended on spending her evening lost in her school work. This had been worth a little procrastination, though. They'd had a great time tonight, eating barbecue, dancing... just being together. Things had fluctuated between feeling strained and normal and it was good to be edging closer to normal, now.
When he pulled up to the curb just outside of her apartment building, she took a slow breath and smiled at him. This was the part she dreaded about a first date. It seemed like the majority of the guys on the planet wanted to move quickly but she had a rule... no kissing on the first date and, yes, that was going to apply to him whether they'd kissed before or not.
"Me too," she told him sincerely. "Thanks for an amazing evening."
