Things were still pretty fucked up to say the least. He wasn’t talking to Marlene and that was weird enough in itself. He just… didn’t want to deal with that situation right now, or ever. He was still angry at her, still being broody and still thinking she’d made the wrong decision. So whatever. Her loss and she’d realise that soon enough. Nate was pretty sure he’d get over it all soon enough anyway and then it’d all be too late for Marlene. But the fact that it still was on his mind a lot of the time was really not helping that argument any.
Which would be why he wanted to go away come Valentine’s Day. Usually it would be the perfect excuse to pick up chicks (still is, mind you) but in Chicago this year? Not going to work. He needed to be somewhere different and fresh so he could just have fun. Life had gotten far too serious lately. Because you know, Nate isn’t an extremely serious person or anything like that. Cough cough.
It was too bad she’d asked him to watch Knocked Up somewhere that was public enough that he couldn’t then deny it later on. He was just glad she hadn’t been cruel enough to suggest The Notebook or something. That would have him disowning her for sure.
Pulling up in front of Rhi’s house Nate sighed as he turned off his car and pushed his keys into his pocket while he walked up to the door. Damn, how long had it been since he’d come here to spend time with Rhi? Okay so he’d try not to make too many comments about what he used to come here for. But no promises. Sometimes he couldn’t help himself.
Knocking, he then leant back against the door frame looking out over the front while he waited for the door to be answered.
