Jamie genuinely relished in the looks she got when she took Nibbler for walks. She treated him like he was an odd-looking dog... bringing little baggies with her to clean up after him, occasionally letting him chew on patches of grass they came across. Grown-up people usually stared, laughed, or made faces. Kids, however, always wanted to come up close and pet the little goat. Nibbler seemed to love the attention almost as much as Jamie did.
After being mauled by a passing group of school children on a field trip, Jamie decided it was time to feed herself. Maybe she'd get something that she could share with the kiddo. The food court nearby provided a decent variety, and she knew that the Greek food stall sold gyros and salads... it didn't get to be much more of a coincidence than that, did it?
With Nibbler on his little yellow harness and leash, she waited in line for her food, trying to keep the tray balanced with his little tugs. Jamie found a seat nearby and settled down to eat, not before placing the bowl of plain salad on the ground in front of her pet.
God, she loved gyros. She loved everything about them, even the tomatoes. Oh, and the sauce. And the meat. What was in gyros, anyway? It wasn't beef... it was lamb. Lambalicious. Midway through her gyro, Jamie glanced down at the little goatlet happily munching away.
And it hit her. Gah. Lambs were awfully close to goats. Jamie swallowed hard, feeling guilty as sin, then looked from Nibbler to her gyro, horrified, before letting out a scream and chucking the thing over her shoulder in a panic. She reached down to rub his ears lovingly, apologetically. Gah, she was a horrible goat-mommy, wasn't she?
