The way he asked was so distant and so far from what she was feeling right now. It felt a little like she was watching this conversation rather than being a part of it. Sara knew he had issues with feelings and that was the exact reason why she'd held back many times. Saying something stupid and ruining time with him was not something she wanted to do. Any moment with him was too precious for that. "Finished, actually..." she trailed off, trying to wipe the worried expression off her face but failing. "There's just those few things that I'll pack tomorrow after using them and that's it."
She shouldn’t be searching for some kind of emotion within him but she couldn’t seem to stop herself. She just wanted to know that he knew what was going on and that he’d registered it. That he’d be okay while she was gone.
