"Thanks." He went over to the kitchen and grabbed a cup for the two of them, silently pouring some water in and popping it in the microwave he had before turning back to her. He was going to have to bring it up sooner or later. "So... how's packing going?" That was one way to ease the conversation in the direction of what was really going on. But he still failed at making it sound like his Wendy was leaving, and made it more like just a friend was leaving.
But she was so much more than a friend to him. He knew that. It scared the ever living out of him, but he had realized that soon enough. And not just because she was his Wendy. She was just an amazing woman. One that he wanted to keep in his life. One that he wished wasn't leaving for Australia tomorrow.
