Who: Ellie Daly and Matt Kane (Mawu & Himeros) What: Phone call! When: TBA Rating: PG-13, I'm sure Status: Incomplete Log, To be edited when completed.
Contrary to popular belief, Matt liked to spend Sunday evenings in his dorm. He had classes early on Monday morning and he liked to be rested. If he was rested, he was less likely to skip school and, in turn, he was less likely to fail and get kicked off the team.
Sure, he didn't exactly spend this time studying. He usually played the PSP Ed had gotten him for his birthday or watched movies. Today, he happened to be doing both. Varsity Blues was playing in the background while the game held his attention.
When his phone rang, it took a few moments to get everything paused so that he could answer. "Hello," he said as he flipped the phone open. He'd been in such a hurry to not miss the call that he'd snatched it open without looking and he had no clue who was on the other line.
"Hey, Matt, it's me, Ellie. I just.. I thought I'd call.. " Ellie got everything out in a jumbled rush, feeling nervous about the call, about whether he wanted to hear from her or he'd just been being nice when he'd said it was okay.
It wasn't like she had a ton of experience calling up a boy, after all, especially one like Matt, and she couldn't help second guessing herself. Or feeling nervous and self-conscious just at the sound of his voice. She'd almost forgotten how much she loved his accent.
Matt didn't feel remotely guilty for the way he behaved after Ellie had caught him blatantly flirting with her sister. As bad as it sounded, he really didn't want to miss out on the opportunity to have a second go with her. However, you wouldn't have been able to tell that they'd argued at all by the bright smile crossed his features when he realized who was on the other line.
"Hey!" he greeted cheerfully. "How are you?"
Ellie was naive enough to believe she'd been in the wrong here. He'd been so upset and she'd never even dated a guy before, so how was she to know any different? She'd accepted the blame, because she thought that was what she was supposed to do and right now she was pretty much willing to do anything to make it up to him.
She relaxed a little when he sounded happy to hear from her. He couldn't hate her too much for that whole thing if he sounded that glad, right? "I'm good!" she returned, his cheerful tone contagious as hers obviously brightened to match. "What about you?"
"I'm doing much better now," he flirted softly. That was almost the truth. Sure, he hadn't been doing poorly before but just hearing her voice on the other end of the line made him perk up. Matt turned his game off and rolled in his bed so that he could slide it back into his bedside table drawer. "So tell me what you've been up to," he groaned a little as he stretched. "What all have I missed? You haven't run out and found a new boy to play with, have you?"
Ellie couldn't help the bright smile that crossed her face when he said that, that he was doing better now, as though she had something to do with that. She didn't know he was being flirty and she took it 100% sincerely. She couldn't help blushing, too, when he continued to question her. "N-no, I haven't.. no new boys to.. You haven't missed much at all, really. Just.. you know.. Studying, Christmas. My life is boring."
"I don't believe that for a second," he grinned. "You're the least boring person I know." He paused, there, and rolled back onto his backside again. "It's good to hear you haven't hastily replaced me. I was starting to wonder... you've been so quiet and I've really missed you." Matt was evil for doing what he was doing right now but he couldn't quite help himself. He had thought about her and he had missed talking to her... but he hadn't been pining or anything. It was okay to twist the truth a little, right?
"Maybe my life is just boring because you aren't here," Ellie flirted, blushing furiously the second the words left her mouth. Flirting with boys was something she just didn't do. Ever. Even if she shouldn't be embarrassed about flirting with a boy she'd already slept with, she was.
"I.. I've really missed you, too, Matt," came her soft reply. She couldn't help the happy feeling that bubbled inside her when he said he'd missed her. Not just missed her, but really missed her. That phrase ust made Ellie feel far happier than it should.
Matt had known how she'd feel when he said those words. Girls like Ellie always had some sudden swell of emotion when they thought he'd spent time pining for them. It was entire wrong of him but he was always willing to exploit that ... gullibility.
"That's entirely possible," he agreed with a smile. "I know mines not nearly as interesting when you're not around." A little white lie had never hurt anyone, right? "I mean it, El," he mumbled softly. "I really did miss getting these calls from you. I missed hearing your voice..."
Name one guy who could talk a virgin into bed with him, get caught trying to get her sister into bed with him, and manage not to face any repercussions. Matt Kane.
And here Ellie found herself apologizing yet again. "I've missed hearing your voice, too," she admitted softly. "I'm sorry, Matt.. I didn't mean.." she cut herself off and chewed her lip for about a half a second. "I'm really glad you can forgive me for being such an idiot.."
She honestly didn't know any better than to believe him. It wasn't like Ellie had been on a date, had a boyfriend, had any real experience with guys before then. He obviously hadn't known Brooke was her sister and if he said it had all been innocent, she believed him. Moreover, she felt horrible for doubting him to start with.
"Do-do you think you're likely to be in Boston again anytime soon?" she asked a little timidly. She didn't want to push, but she hadn't just missed his voice. She'd been missing him and a part of her was almost aching to see him again.
"Everyone makes mistakes," he mumbled softly. "There's no way I could stay mad at you forever."
For once, he was telling the truth. He firmly believed that everyone made mistakes and should always be given another chance. He also believed that there was nothing she could do that would make him hate her. No, he wasn't in love with her but he couldn't help liking her... she was an amazing girl.
"I don't know," he continued to talk to her in a soft voice. "I hope it's soon... I'd really like to see you again." Matt was capable of telling the truth two times in a row? Who knew!
"Me, too," Ellie breathed back through the phone and it was obvious in her tone that she missed him quite a lot, that she was really kind of dying to see him again.. and soon. It felt like it had been far too long since she'd seen him.
For the first time in her life, Ellie hated being stuck in school. She hated that she couldn't just drop everything to see him. "We'll have to figure out something, because I really miss you," she admitted, her tone just as soft. Her cheeks pinkened as she admitted that and she bit lightly on her lip and she idly played with a loose string on her bedspread.
"I miss you, too," he drawled softly. "A whole lot." So much for the truth-streak he'd been on.
The way she sighed, her soft tone... he couldn't stop himself from smiling a little before adding a soft. "Why don't you let me see you? We've not gotten to try out the Christmas gift I got for you..."
Ellie hesitated just a second before agreeing. She was still confused about the gift, but maybe Ashleigh was right. Maybe it was because he really liked her and he wanted to just SEE her when he wasn't around.
"Okay," she agreed softly, reaching for the box and glancing over the instructions. It seemed easy enough, just plug and play, right? She shifted, reaching for her laptop and plugging it in, mounting the little camera on top of the screen.
"I don't.. I'm not really sure how this works.. I've never used one before," she admitted self-sonsciously.
Matt's entire face lit up when she agreed relatively easily. His original thoughts, when purchasing the gift, had been far from innocent but he knew that he'd have to work up to such a request with her. Honestly, he didn't really mind, either. She wouldn't have been half as appealing if she just fell over onto her back with her legs open.
"It's simple," he assured her, reaching for his own computer. "You just plug it in and... BAM, I can see you." He paused there, considering his options for a moment. It might be easier to coax her into what he wanted if she couldn't see him but, then again, her seeing him could be the deciding factor as well. "I have one, too," he told her softly. "We'll get to see one another... it'll be great!"
Ellie couldn't help grinning. It would be nice to see him and she was feeling much less worried and awkward than she had when she'd first called. She was still chewing her lip slightly when she opened up her IM program and saw the webcam window come right up.
"I have it on now, but... how do I see you?" she questioned softly, squinting slightly at the screen as she tried to figure this whole thing out. Honestly, right now, Matt could probably talk her into almost anything pretty easily. She missed him a lot and.. she was eager to prove that she wanted.. whatever this was.. to work. After they'd sort of fought over the thing with Brooke, she was anxious to show him she could be the kind of girl who trusted him and she definitely wouldn't want to do anything to upset him again so soon.
Matt couldn't open his computer and get the IM program online fast enough. She was already logged on when his buddy list appeared and he clicked to open up her IM window. His first instant message of the evening was an emoticon but, after that, he clicked the right buttons, telling the program to open a video chat. When he was sure she should only see an accept or deny button, he asked her to click accept.
Once their images were both on his screen, he grinned at her. "There's that beautiful face," he spoke into the phone. "Give me a smile?"
Matt didn't even really have to ask for the smile. She'd no sooner clicked "accept" on her screen when he was right there on her screen and Ellie remembered every bit of why she was so attracted to him. He looked.. good, even better than she remembered.
Ellie blushed when he called her beautiful and she couldn't have denied him a smile even if she'd wanted to at that point, "God, it's good to see you," she mumbled, not quite aware she'd said it out loud as she couldn't quite stop smiling at the image on her screen.
Matt was grinning from ear to ear. Regardless of his intentions, he was very glad to see her and it showed in the way he was looking at her. "I swear," he muttered into the phone, "you're even more beautiful than I remember."
While that was a line, it was also true. Ellie was a beautiful girl... he wouldn't have wanted her so badly if she wasn't. "It's really good to see you, too, El," he agreed. "It's not like seeing you in person but it's definitely better than nothing."
Ellie blushed a deep pink when she realized she'd said that out loud and the blush only grew when he called her beautiful. It was slightly insane, but Ellie had always thought of her twin as the gorgeous one, even though they were identical. That was probably why she fell for Matt's words so easily. She wasn't used to this kind of attention from a guy, especially one who looked like him.
"Definitely," she agreed, her cheeks still pink, even if the blush was starting to fade a little. He looked every bit as good as she remembered, but there was no way she was saying that out loud.
Matt talked to her for several moments longer, repeating questions about school and her social life just so that he could see her facial expressions when she answered. He flattered her, telling her how beautiful she was, how he adored her smile, how he wished he could be there with her rather than in his own bed. After a while, though, he developed a bit of a smirk.
"Well, push that computer back, some," he requested. "Let me see you. Let me see what you're wearing. Let me see if you've changed any. It feels like it's been a forever since I've seen you."
Ellie smiled and blushed her way through her answers, tucking her hair behind her ear, answering that school was good and her social life was pretty uneventful, babbling way too much, which was a sure sign she was feeling nervous. You'd think she wouldn't be so self-conscious around a guy she'd already slept with, but she was..
"O-okay," she stammered when he made his request, blushing deeply, but doing as he'd asked. She shifted so that she was sitting back from the computer again, so he could see her more fully. She wasn't wearing anything special - just a simple blue tank top and a pair of white sweatpants. She bit nervously on her lip, not really used to this webcam chatting or flirty kind of attention from a guy at all, but she definitely liked it a lot.
"God, you're still so sexy," he muttered as his eyes moved over the image on his screen. "I've missed you so much. I really wish I was there to see you," he paused for a moment, "to touch you."
Most of what he said was mostly true. That's what counted, right? It was cruel to play her in such a way but she was so innocent and perfect... he couldn't help wanting to corrupt her a little. He looked at her for a moment as he repeated compliments before finally asking his next question. "Is Emma out?"
Ellie's blush deepened, if that was even remotely possible, when he complimented her again. She wasn't sexy and she knew it, but when he said it, she almost believed him. That was probably the thing she liked most about Matt - he made her feel actually wanted. It was a heady feeling and it was almost no wonder he could so easily talk her into things she might not normally do.
"She.. she's out for awhile," Ellie answered. The blush had spread down to her shoulders and chest and she bit her lip as she wondered why he was asking. She briefly thought of the way he'd flirted with brooke - but, no, he wouldn't do that to her. Hadn't he reassured her that she was the one he liked? There was no way she was questioning it aloud, anyway. Not after what had happened before.
Matt happened to think that Ellie was very sexy. He wasn't lying about that. If he didn't think so, he wouldn't put nearly as much time or effort into having this... whatever this was with her. She felt wanted because she was wanted.
"Good," he grinned mischievously. "I like having you all to myself." He paused there a moment before groaning softly. "Jeeze, Ellie, why do you have to be so sexy."
You would think that Ellie's blush couldn't get any deeper by this point, but it seemed that just wasn't true, because every word from Matt's lips seemed to make her skin a bit more pink. It didn't help that he looked really good and all she could think about was how much she wanted to kiss him right now. Among other things.
"I.. I.. I don't think I am," she stammered softly when he asked her that question. How else was she supposed to answer that? She was not the sexy one, especially when she was sitting here in her tank top and sweats.
"Oh, but you are," he answered. "You're drop dead gorgeous, El. Just look at you... even when wearing a simple pair of sweat pants and a t-shirt you make me so..." he trailed off, allowing her imagination to finish that sentence.
"You look damned good, El," he mumbled after a moment. "That's all I'm saying." Pause. "I really wish I could see more of you."
It wasn't one of his smoothest lines but Matt had never been one to be patient.
Could Ellie's blushing possibly get any worse? Oh, yes. Yes, it could, apparently.
"M-m-more of me?" she questioned, not quite sure what he meant. Yes, Ellie really was that innocent and naive, despite what had happened the last time she'd seen him.
"Yes," he told her softly, "more of you. I've not seen you in weeks and I've really missed you." His tone was more than a little suggestive as he spoke and he seriously hoped that she managed to pick up on the hint through all of her innocence. "I've been aching for you, El," he mumbled, pretending he was embarrassed by the admission.
"I... do you want me to move back more?" she asked, confused as she looked at the screen. She knew that a very little of her was hidden from view (mostly just her feet), but it seemed weird that he would care about that. She didn't know what else he was suggesting, though. Ellie just wasn't enough to think immediately of something sexual or naughty and she was definitely not picking up on his meaning right now, despite his last comments and his apparent embarrassment as he said them.
"No, Ellie," he answered with a faux blush. "I was... I was wanting to see you... all of you... the parts your clothes are covering." Pause. "I've missed you, baby. It's been weeks."
Matt was completely horrible for doing this but he wasn't thinking about that, now. Right now he had a goal... one he hoped to achieve soon.
"I.. I can't do that," she whispered, almost as if she was afraid someone would hear, which was ridiculous since no one else was around, no one but her and him. "I.." she was blushing furiously again and worrying her lip thoughtfully, actually considering it, despite his words.
truthfully, it was a little tempting and.. she wanted to make him happy. She didn't want to disappoint him or anything and.. if this would please him, maybe she should. Maybe she should stop being such a prude before he decided she wasn't pretty or sexy after all?
"Come on, baby," he encouraged. "No one would know. You're so sexy and I miss you so much. Please." He flashed her a charming smile. "I'll let you see me, if you want." He paused there and thought for a moment. "Don't you miss me the way that I miss you?"
It was official. Matthew Kane was an evil evil person.
"Of course I miss you, Matt," she countered, forgetting all about her nervousness for a moment as she jumped to reassure him. She was so unsure about what he seemed to be asking her to do, but she didn't want him to think she didn't miss him.
She nodded her head slowly, breathing an almost inaudible "okay" as she slowly, nervously started to pull her tank top up. It felt like ages, but she was finally lifting it over her head and setting it carefully next to her on the bed, blushing, biting her lip, and not quite looking at his image in the screen, as if she was too embarrassed to really look at him now.
Matt didn't often fall victim to his conscience but he found that he had a large seed of guilt in the pit of his stomach as she pulled her shirt over her head. "El," he spoke softly, his tone genuinely caring. "Look at me, baby." He took in a deep breath and waited for her eyes to lock with his. "You're beautiful," he finally breathed. "God, you're so sexy... but you don't have to." He could hardly believe the words that were coming out of his mouth. "I just... it shouldn't be a chore. We can just talk, if you want."
Ellie reluctantly shifted her gaze, her breath catching as her gaze locked with his. He had the most amazing eyes - the most amazing everything and she definitely couldn't deny wanting him.. so badly right now. "No, Matt," started to reassure him shakily, "I do.. I want to.. I'm just.. I've never.. before.. I don't know how.. but I want to.. I want to let you.." she blushed a deep pink again, all the way down to her shoulders, forgetting to worry about the fact that she was sitting there only in sweatpants and a very plain blue cotton bra now. "I want to let you.. see me," she finished, the blush only growing as her tongue flicked out over her lower lip to moisten it a bit. "If.. if you still want to."
She was definitely, definitely nervous, but she wanted to do this for him. She didn't want him to be disappointed in her.
