Ana spent several minutes in the bathroom just looking at herself, running cool water over her wrists, trying to calm herself so that she could go back into the break room and finish her meal. When she finally came out, she was certain that she'd be able to continue their meal and carry on as usual.
Those weren't in his plans, though.
As soon as she stepped out, he was standing there, waiting for her, talking. She barely had the opportunity to process his words before he was pulling her into yet another toe curling kiss and before she really realized what had happened he was gone.
She stood there, completely dumbfounded, staring at the space he'd just been occupying. Honestly, she didn't know whether she was coming or going. One minute, he was kissing her and there seemed to be a connection between them. The next minute, he was getting back together with his ex-girlfriend. Of course, as soon as she had broken his heart, he was back to kissing her. What same person could keep up with this?
Moving over to the table they'd been sitting at, she cleared their things and went out onto the floor. Before going back to work, she slipped behind the bar, muttering a quick and quiet, "We need to talk ASAP." Before he could engage her in a conversation while she was on the clock, she was gone again, prepared to work the last few hours of her shift.
