Holding his freshly-filled cup in his hands, Tony walked back around the corner from the kitchen. He took the opportunity to sip off of his own coffee, buying himself some time. Glancing over at the couch, he saw that Gianna wasn't looking at him with wide, questioning eyes, but his son was.
When Rose decided to leave him, she and Tony had made it perfectly clear to Gus exactly why they were separating. Rose made it clear to her son that his father was a philanderer. Gus understood. He'd always carried an understanding of what his father did, and he saw how it affected his mother. But it wasn't something they'd ever talked about in any detail.
Why not? Because it wasn't something Gus wanted to know about. It wasn't something Tony wanted Gus to know about.
Tony looked at his son, hesitating for a moment, then nodded. "Your mother..." he started, pulling out the memories that weren't tucked too far back in his mind. They'd been stirred up the moment he'd seen Gianna. "I think that's a story best left for another time, if you don't mind."
