As Rory took notes along with Jack's play-by-play of what was going on, he paused to allow her to catch up. He knew how annoying it was when a teacher spoke too fast and didn't allow extra time to write everything they said. Especially since Jack didn't have much confidence in his tutoring abilities, he made a point to at least be diligent in allowing kids to write everything. That's the least he could do.
Jack laughed at her remark, nodding slightly in agreement. "Yeah, it's true. I mean, we don't realize it, but that's pretty much true in a lot of things," he said, not sure if what he said made much sense.
Trying again, he rephrased himself, "I mean, that's why we say to put yourself in the other person's shoes, I guess. You know?" He hoped he understood where he was going with this.
