Jack laughed a little at her remarks. It honestly wasn't a problem to him to tutor his fellow students. While many kids he knew adopted the 'every man for himself' mindset, Jack felt differently about the whole matter. What was the problem with helping someone else? Compassion for your fellow person should be something natural, but in this day and age, kids in high school only care about getting into college.
Whatever, Jack thought. It helped him review the material as well as helping someone else - he would never say no to an opportunity to tutor someone else. Well, unless they were a jerk.
"It's cool, I completely get that this might be hard for you. Not only are you not from America judging by your accent, you're also new here," he nodded.
"It's pretty impressive you're coming in during the middle of the year as it is," he admitted.
