It really didn't feel wrong to Ana. Maybe it was one of the rare occasions that her hormones actually managed to get the best of her but it felt right. Really really right.
Then again, Ana had no clue they were rushing home so that he could be with the girl that cheated on him.
To be honest, Ana hadn't ever been afraid of anything a day in her life. She wasn't afraid of losing herself in something new. You simply couldn't avoid the new because it didn't feel familiar. In her opinion if was best if you jumped right in and waited until you got used to the temperature of the water.
She was flushed slightly when he pulled away. The giddy, heart-thumping feeling she had floating around in her middle was crushed when he looked at her the way he did.
In what felt like milliseconds, he'd pulled away from her completely and she suddenly remembered just how cold it was.
"Oh. I'm... uhhh... it's alright."
She took a step back and her gaze dropped to the ground for a split second. When she looked back up at him again, though, she was all smiles. "We should probably get back on the road, right? There's that huge party and everything."
Seriously, what had she been thinking? Had she gone completely nuts?
Rather than waiting for him to answer, she grinned again, then began making her way around the front of the truck.
Once they were both inside again, she adjusted the seat, put it into gear and began pulling away from the gas station. It wasn't her vehicle and she was extra cautious as she made her way back to the interstate.
"It was your turn," she reminded him in her usual cheery tone. "Unless you're really wanting to rest... we can stop if you do."
