Ana knew that Caleb would be tired. From the way things had sounded, he wasn't going to be able to drop in on a friend and catch a few hours of sleep like she had. Or, at least, she didn't think he would be able to. You didn't drive five hours just to crash on a friend's sofa, right?
She pulled her bottom lip between her teeth as she looked up then down the street. If he was coming, she didn't see him, so she glanced down at her watch, wondering where he was. Of course, when she looked up again, he was pulling up to the cub in front of her and her face brightened with a wide smile.
"Hey!" she greeted when he rushed around the car to open the door for her. "Yeah. I mean, I'm sure he probably feels a little cheated about having a girl show up at his door at three in the morning, only for her to fall asleep an hour or two later."
Once they were both settled in the car she grinned and looked over at him again. "How was your night?"
