Who: Max Beckett (Grumpy) and Julia Campbell (Fabric of Neverland) What: A chance encounter, and plenty of friendly banter Where: Late-night diner, just around the corner from Aesop's Tables When: Around 2am Thursday morning
Sweaty and tired, Max didn't really feel like doing much besides heading home and passing out, the same thing he did most nights when he had to close down the bar. Tonight, despite his physical exhaustion, his mind was fairly awake. Nothing an hour or so of video games or furious scribbles at home couldn't lick. But he needed to eat, and his apartment wasn't the best place to feed his hunger. One could only get so far on pop-tarts and pringles, his typical apartment staple foods.
So he made tracks around the corner to the diner, shrugging his shoulders inside his hoodie and trying to keep warm. He hadn't been there in a few months, but he recalled the burgers hadn't been bad, and a kind server had put up with some of his more unusual of requests to meet his tastes. The taste of an Aussie Burger on his tongue hit him out of left field, but he couldn't get it off of his mind... and it brought him into the diner. Max plunked himself down in a booth, stretching his legs out beneath the table and propping his boots up on the seat across from him.
