Ed hadn't really been harsh. He'd been honest. Which was probably why it had hit so deeply with her. What's that saying? The truth hurts?
Ed didn't think she was that kind of person because she really wasn't. Ellie had been hurt and... well, she had a temper. Sure, most wouldn't believe that statement and it was definitely difficult to ignite it but once you managed it, she often acted without thinking.
Ashleigh barely opened her eyes when he slid into the bed beside her. It felt good when he pulled the blankets over them, though, and she gave another soft sigh when his fingers began slowly circling over her back.
"You were right," she mumbled after a moment. "I am better than that and I'm glad he didn't see it."
