No matter how many times Matt let his southern upbringing show through, it always seemed to surprise Lyla. It was a good kind of surprise, though, unless you consider than it only made her like him, which could be considered a bad thing, depending on your point of view.
Right now, though, she rewarded him with a bright smile and a thank you as he set his coat over her shoulders, even though she felt bad that he was probably freezing.
It was cold, even with the extra covering, and Lyla wasted no time getting into his truck when he held the door open. It was times like this that she wished she'd picked someplace warmer to go to college in.
