She laughed lightly and pulled back, shaking her head. She took a deep breath and took his hand, pulling him back inside the house. She tugged him along until they were back in the room where she'd been earlier. She spotted Michael and figured she aught to tell him goodbye.
She turned around to face Bryan and held her clutch towards him. "Hold this for a second?" She yelled, then once he'd take it from her, she started through the crowd, to Michael, who wasn't that far and he was visible from where Bryan stood.
She got close to Michael's ear to tell him she was leaving, his arms snaked around his waist. He said okay and double checked she was sure she wanted to leave. She assured him she was fine and thanked him for bringing her. She also apologized and promised she'd make it up to him. Not like he'd remember. He was drunk already. Another reason she was thankful that Bryan showed up. Michael kissed her cheek and she, as non-awkwardly as she could, slipped away, back to Bryan.
"Thanks.. " She smiled, taking her purse back and headed for the door, towards freedom.. or more-so, quiet.
