Emma only smiled at his raised eyebrow. There was something definitely appealing about making him go to the park with her and she certainly wasn't the type to deny such an urge.
Besides, he needed all the fun he could get, didn't he? School was going to start back soon and he'd be his usual focused self.
Without thinking anything of the gesture, her fingers automatically laced through his and she pulled him out the door.
They talked of trivial things through the meal. She asked him how his Christmas had been. Told him all about hers. She touched on every topic... except for why she was in the mood she was in.
Once they were finished, she dragged him to the playground she used to go to as a kid. It wasn't very popular now, most of the kids liked the newer one that they'd built a few blocks over, but Emma still loved it. There were swings, a see-saw and a slide... even a merry-go-round and some monkey bars. It lacked the new fangled wooden/plastic sets that seemed to be going up everywhere but Emma couldn't deny liking to have her park all to herself.
"Come on," she murmured, pulling him close as she walked them across the abandoned playground. "Let's see-saw."
And that was exactly what she intended to do. She dropped his hand when she reached her end of the toy and she waited patiently for him to follow suit.
