Emma knew that she was intelligent, she knew she was witty... those aspects just didn't happen to be the attributes that stood out most.
She was practically bouncing when she pulled the first box into her lap. Opening presents always made her a giddy like a little girl and that was definitely showing, now.
The box of chocolates was the first box to lose it's top. Even after everything she'd ate in the last hour, she pulled the largest chunk from it's resting place and shoved it into her mouth.
"Mmmmmmmm. So good," she hummed as she closed her eyes and just chewed a few bites. Emma didn't usually let herself eat so much but... God, she really loved food.
Once the candy had mostly melted in her mouth, she went for the next box. It was very obviously jewelry and she was suddenly hit with regret for not buying him something nicer for Christmas.
"You know you really didn't have to ge..." her words trailed off as she tugged the lid off the box. It was beautiful. In her eyes, it was a sappy and romantic gift... and that automatically meant that she loved it.
"I love it," she told him as she reached out to run her finger tip over the locket. "It's really beautiful and entirely too much but... I love it."
She leaned in, then, and wrapped her arms around him. "Thank you," she mumbled as she hugged him.
