"I wanted to," he countered her protests that he didn't have to do this or that. It was the truth. He'd wanted to see her and he'd wanted to bring her things. This wasn't some obligation he thought he had to her. In truth, he'd missed her and this had seemed like a brilliant idea.
He started to second think it, though, when she spoke of not going out. "I'm intruding on family time.. God, I'm so-" he was partway through his apology, about to tell her he could go if she had plans when she suddenly announced the need to change and he looked up again, moving forward and catching her hand, just firmly enough to keep her from going just yet.
"Why? I think you look amazing in them," he breathed, he other hand coming up to hold her cheek as his eyes locked with hers. Really, she could change if she wanted, but he'd almost rather she didn't. Not when she already looked great to him.
