It was one of the perks, coming from a large family. Christmas was always a huge holiday, a huge to-do, and while it was chaotic and maddening at times, he wouldn't -- he couldn't -- change a moment of any of it. He loved being a part of the madness and he living in a small family was something that was beyond his comprehension. There were four kids within his small family, and then all sorts of cousins, aunts, uncles, extended family... it was all a little overwhelming at times, but he was used to it by now. This Christmas was no different than most of the others he had celebrated in his eighteen years of life. For some strange reason, everyone came to his mother's house for the day, and that's where everything was celebrated. That would be the reason the house was bustling, feet were pounding up and down hallways, voices were shouting, and the smell of food was filling the entire house. Yeah, he loved this time of year, because the house may have been hectic year-round, sure, but it was never like this. Currently, the blond was ignoring the madness and sitting on the edge of his bed, brow scrunched as he put the finishing touches on wrapping a few of his presents. In a very typical Noah-fashion, he'd put off doing this until the last possible minute. Sure, he may have been a hard worker when it came to some things, but this? This sort of thing he was just lazy about. Hey, it was the holidays! He could totally be lazy and get away with it, right?
Sighing, he fell onto his back, the balls of his hands pressing against his eyes as he listened to Michael and Allie getting into some sort of argument, which to be quite honest, he really didn't want to know or ask about it. It probably wasn't worth it and... he'd just end up being confused even more because of them. Other noises went in and out of his ears, but he chose to ignore them for the time being. He was going to let himself relax for as long as he could before going and joining in the Christmas chaos.
It was strange, really, while he wouldn't trade his family for the world and loved Christmas the way they had it, a small part of him wished things could change. They could be different. Christmas never really felt whole or complete, even if the entire family was happy and content. Something was always missing, and... he never quite knew what to do about that.
Shaking his head, he sat up again, leaning forward and resting his arms on his legs. Now? Was not the time to think about that.
