Dari's words had been muttered quietly but Jeremy hadn't missed them. If he'd been wondering before, he suddenly felt sure in his assumption that he was in so much trouble. In an attempt at comforting her... or, more accurately, sucking up, he gave her shoulders a gentle squeeze.
He forced himself to stay quiet as they spoke of Frankie's performance. He thought it was unfair that Dari was judging her because of the relationship he'd had with her in the past but he wasn't stupid enough to voice that opinion. Something like that would look as if he was choosing sides and he wanted nothing to do with that.
"I don't know," he finally answered the redhead. "We're heading out to Seattle for Christmas and need to pack... it would be entirely up to Dari."
Honestly, he didn't think his girlfriend was going to go for such an invitation. In his mind, he'd given her an excellent reason to decline if that was what she wanted.
