If it was possible, her already shocked expression deepened when Marlene told her who had gotten it for her. "Nate gave you this? Are you kidding me?" she asked in complete disbelief.
Nate was such an... asshole, for lack of a better word. She almost didn't think it was possible for him to put anyone else above his own wants or needs.
"Boys are definitely weird and confusing... and yeah Nate... just... I can't believe it."
Ashleigh's face brightened just a little when Marlene asked about Ed. "Oh, he [insert random squeeing that I don't know here]."
Realizing that she hadn't really let the girl get into the house, she began ushering her toward the sofa. "Tell me about Troy... did he get you the unicorn? What's been going on with you and your boys?"
To look at Ashleigh, you would've thought they hadn't spoken in weeks. They'd spent plenty of time together in the last few days, she just couldn't help getting this excited every time she was around Marlene.
