"Shhh, no, love, it's okay, really, it's alright," he soothed, rubbing a thumb over her cheek, running his fingers through her hair. He pressed a loving kiss to her forehead.
"I know, baby.. I know you didn't," he continued to reassure her when she started babbling about her mother's claims. "It's alright, love, I know you didn't, I know you wouldn't, come on.."
He slipped an arm around her shoulders, still holding him close to him as he started to guide her away from the hall and towards her bedroom. Maybe if he got her to lie down for a bit, he could get her calmed down.
