Ashleigh couldn't believe that her mother was doing this to her. Sure, she was horrible and she hadn't expected this to go smoothly but... this? This was worse than anything she'd imagined.
Matthew was speechless. He didn't want to believe that his daughter had done anything like that but... she was growing up, changing... what if she had?
Both father and daughter were rendered speechless when Ed spoke up.
Ashleigh was silent but she was so grateful that he didn't believe her mother. She hadn't done anything like that with Ollie... not with anyone other than him.
Matthew's own faith was renewed when he saw that Ed didn't doubt his daughter. If a boy who'd only known her a few months believed in her, surely she deserved the same from her own father.
"Are you sure?" Alexandrea questioned with her evil smile still in place. "I'm sure she appreciates such blind devotion but, in all due respect, Mr. McMillan, you were here and I know what I saw. You might need to have a talk with your girlfriend later."
Again, Matthew's mouth opened to defend Ashleigh but before he could say anything both is wife and daughter were standing. When Ashleigh mumbled an excuse about needing to use the restroom before rushing from the room, Alexandrea smile. "It was nice meeting you, Ed," she nodded in his direction before removing herself from the dining room as well.
