For the first time since she'd rushed away from the dinner table, she returned the light kiss he brushed over her lips. It was relaxing to be so close to him, to have his arms wrapped protectively around her, to smell him.
"I want you to get to know my Daddy," she mumbled. "I think you two could really bond... I think he'll love you just as much as I do."
When she said those words, she tilted her face up and brushed her lips over his again.
Matthew had really laid into his wife, this time. They rarely fought but when they did, it was explosive. Unable to get any where with her, he had stormed out of the room, intending on checking on his daughter. That was absolutely the worst she'd ever been through, to his knowledge.
"Hey, bab..." he said softly as he turned into her room but his words trailed off when he saw her lips pressed to Ed's. He cleared his throat uncomfortably. He didn't think his daughter was... well, that was a lie, he thought his daughter was perfectly innocent and it was a little startling to see that she might not be quite as innocent as he thought she was.
