Honestly, he didn't know how he was supposed to accept gratitude for... something like this. He was sure it sounded stupid when those words filled the space between them but that was the only thing that came to mind.
"We should probably do that now," he told her, looking at the floor. "If we're lucky, I knocked the guy out and he's still laying out there."
He knew that he'd not punched him nearly enough for that but a guy could hope, couldn't he?
Nothing like this had ever happened to him before so he wasn't sure as to how they should proceed but he didn't want to screw it up in any way. Sooner was better, right?
