No, Emily did not know where her daughter was at the time. She didn't even know that Jade had spoken to Dominic before. Well, she was in for a rude awakening. Jade felt completely detached from her mother and the only thing she wanted from the woman was college money, which was really just from the woman's husband. Robert and Jade hadn't gotten along since Jade was naive, I mean..young. Well, they shared a hatred for one another and every chance they got, they made it obvious. Definitely to the dismay of Emily and their children. Jade could care less. She had few people that meant anything to her and her dad..was the most important. She had been unwillfully moved to Chicago and never saw her dad again, also unwillingly. That could partially be blamed on him, though. That was one thing about the man that stung and stayed with Jade. There was an everlasting doubt inside of her as to whether she was "worth it" or not. Just like with Bryan. When she got so close to Bryan, she just KNEW he was going to leave her somehow. Something in her decided it wanted it to be her choice when she couldn't have him anymore. She hurt herself instead of letting him hurt her. He'd made no move to change things for better or for worse, so she took it into her own hands.
"Hi, Dominic..I'm your daughter.." Jade muttered, walking down the sidewalk. Millie had let her stay over the night before and Jade left as early ass he could, trying not to be a bother. The brunette had walked the same strip of concrete pathway for more than ten minutes. "Hi, Dad..I'm..Jade.." She made a disgusted face and shrugged, as a tear rolled down her cheek and she stumbled to a stop. "Fuck..just..walk, damnit." She mumbled under her breath and looked around, to see if anyone was watching her in her self discussion. Those long, deep, calming breaths were supposed to help, but they only made Jade feel more like vomiting. Dominic's house was right around the corner and she'd come all the way from Chicago.. what was she doing hesitating NOW?
For a girl who had not ever been afraid of anything before, Jade pulled off 'afraid' quite well at the moment. Her hand had gone back and forth as she contemplated ringing the doorbell, or running away and just forgetting it all. Was she pretty enough? Was she tall enough? Would she disappoint him? God, the last thing she wanted was to disappoint him. She'd disappointed Bryan enough for the rest of the Earth's population. Poor Bryan. He fell for the worst girl he could have. Jade didn't deserve Bryan. Jade really didn't deserve anything. Well, she did deserve the pain she had brought on herself.
Come on! Just fucking do it! You're in Seattle already. You screwed over your best friend by coming here. Just..suck it up.. Jade's body swung around, her hands on her head, with a shrug. "I can't.." Her back to the door, she took one or two steps away from the house. The poor girl's fingernails dug into her palms as she slowed her frantic stride to a concrete stop. "I have to.." She muttered and licked her lips. After a deep, cleansing breath, the nineteen year-old faced her father's home once again and approached the door. A shaky hand rose to the doorbell and hesitated momentarily before jumping to press the small button. A faint trace of the chiming could be heard and her heart took a leap, beginning a foot race. With hands at her sides again, crescent-shaped indentions were filled again until she flattened her hand against her jeans and rubbed the anxiety from them. Hi..I'm Jade James..totally petrified to meet you.
