After the awkward phonecall with her father, Jade had an idea as to what she was doing to change things. Though, Dominic had been right about her pushing people away and she had already known that.. she was well aware that she'd been doing that whole time. It was only SLIGHTLY frustrating that Bryan was SO stubborn. She'd never had people NOT give up on her and this was something.. well, as aforementioned, it was scary. Bryan was stubborn and Jade was almost as stubborn. She was not going to use his money. She didn't want him to have to deal with her problems, whether he wanted to or not. A myriad of things clouded the poor girl's mind as she scrunched her hair and put on her work clothes and shoes. Finally ready, she went back into her bedroom, pausing at the mirror and analyzing what she saw. The reflection showed her an awkward, almost too skinny, plain failure of a girl. Nothing she saw was okay with her and whether or not anyone saw what she did..hers was the only opinion that really mattered.
A few blinks of her eyes in the hopes that the image in the glass might morph into something pleasant..or just different and she shook her head, turning away. Jade slung her bag on her shoulder and snatched up her phone and the envelope of money. Inside the envelope was the one-hundred dollars that Bryan gave her and a note that she had written to him, explaining that she couldn't and wouldn't accept the money no matter what he said. It also explained how much it meant to her that he offered and that she appreciated it. Jade really didn't know what else to tell him to change his mind, but little did she realize, his mind wasn't going to change.
Deep down inside of her, somewhere, she wanted to let him help her..and let her father take care of her a little, but that part of her knew that with those things came bonding. She was pretty much working against herself.
Once last glance in the mirror, making sure her polo was straight and her black pants were lintless, and she walked out of her room and out of her apartment. After locking the door, of course. The drive to the Bell's home was nerve wracking for Jade. She didn't know if Bryan was going to be home. She didn't even know exactly where she would leave the envelope. If he wasn't there, she would take it to his room and leave it on his bed for him to find whenever he returned. If he WAS there, then she'd just give it to him.. and leave. Simple as that. Right..as if things were EVER simple with Jade James.
The landscape was all a blur and her thoughts, being so far from where she was, had totally skipped the drive over. When she pulled into the Bell's driveway, she didn't even remember driving there. Jade shook her head and sighed out heavily through her nose. "Okay.." She muttered, snatching the envelope from her bag and climbing out of the car.
"Please don't be here.." she repeated as she finished the walk to the door.
Maybe I would have been something you'd be good at
Maybe you would have been something I'd be good at
But now we'll never know
I won't be sad
But in case I go there
Everyday, to make myself feel bad
There's a chance that I'll start to wonder if this was the thing to do
