Ophie's trip to California was nice and relaxing, especially after the arguments she'd had the day she decided to leave. It wasn't only Austin..it was also Ophelia's father and brother. Though, they'd never been nice people, Ophie was never good at taking all of their criticism and harsh words. As much of a bitch as she might seem, she was really soft-hearted and for some reason let what people say get in her head and bother her.
Why was she having such a hard time with Austin? Why didn't she understand that he just liked to joke with her? She didn't know how to trust someone who hardly ever said what they meant. It felt like she was on a roller coaster when it came to him..sometimes she DID laugh..and sometimes she was content, but the rest of the time, she was on edge and didn't know how to take teh way he treated her. How was she supposed to have known that he cared about her? She didn't feel close to him and she didn't really know if she could ever be close to him. He could say some of the most hurtful things to her without even knowing. It was scary. Why did he care? Was this going to work out? The poor girl had so much on her mind, she managed to think through most of it while she was on the beach in California.
Now that she was home, she was trying to lighten up and smile more about things, rather than getting upset, but she didn't know how long she could hold out.
She hadn't eaten much since that morning and she starting to feel a little hungry. She remembered the little packs of peaches she kept in the refrigerator. How nice would it be to put on some comfy clothes, get a good book and a little bowl of peaches and sit out on the porch? Wonderful. Well, everything was going good..she'd put on some comfortable yoga pants and a tee-shirt.. she'd grabbed the current book she was reading and the next step was the peaches. Unfortunately, Austin had ignored the fact that Ophelia hated for people to take her things without asking..and the fact that the peaches were labled as belonging to her. Each container bore a little white label with her name on it.
Taking a deep breath, Ophie closed the fridge, set her book down, and trudged towards Austin's room. She was trying her best to be calm about it. It was JUST peaches right? Oh, please. That was beside the point.
She knocked lightly on his door and cleared her throat. "Austin..?" The girl caled out, then leaned against the door drame, her hands clasped in front of her as she waited for him to open the door.
