Ashleigh loved surprises - absolutely adored them, actually. She'd asked him several times to tell her where they were going but, honestly, she was very very glad that he'd not given in. She hadn't really wanted to know, after all. The back and forth banter they'd exchanged had just been ... build up.
His instruction to 'wear something comfortable' didn't help her at all. Comfortable like a jogging suit and tennis shoes? Shorts and flip flops? There were many forms of 'comfortable'.
It had taken a bit but she'd finally made a compromise. Tennis shoes, shorts, and a flirty little top. (She was going out with Ed McMillan, after all.)
When he finally knocked on the door she had to compose herself so that it wouldn't look like she'd just been standing on the other side waiting for that knock. (She'd been sitting, not standing... big difference.) Her roommate looked at her like she was slightly insane as she stood, ran her hands over her clothes, flipped her fingers through her hair and then counted to five before moving to open the door.
She grinned brightly upon seeing him. "Hey," came her obviously happy greeting. "Let me get my things and I'm ready."
In her rush she'd forgotten to grab her cell phone, cash and debit card from her dresser but she turned to get those things now.
