It was a good thing she was having a hard time - Remy was trying hard to make sure that was just what happened. He was still resisting getting close emotionally - he hadn't done that yet with a girl - but it felt... different from most of his other flings.

He poured the water into a small bowl. "Put in four tablespoons of de coffee and stir - den, it gets artistic." He pulled out a thick brush. "Den brush de coffee over de sponge cake, 'til it's completely covered."
