Remy held her gaze first, giving her a reassuring smile. He held one of her glove hands still, but slowly pulled off her other glove. He reached an ungloved finger out, brushing against her skin for the briefest of moments.
It felt strange, not like a normal brushing of skin. It was almost magnetic, like her finger wanted to stay stuck to his, would have if he hadn't pulled back. And there was a tingle, something being pulled from his skin - maybe from him.
But he was still standing, still fully conscious. It took a touch - but a longer touch than that to do any real damage.
He didn't give her a warning for the next move. He didn't want her to withdraw. He leaned forward. His lips brushed for just a half a moment against hers. The magnetic feeling was stronger, and he didn't want to pull back - but he didn't want to break his promise, either. The kiss was like a dream - time slowed down, but it had only barely existed.
He smiled. The important thing was that it had existed.
But he was glad he'd had the coffee. He suddenly felt a bit tired, and his lips were still tingling. He hoped she hadn't taken any power. He knew it was a pain to not accidentally blow things up.
