Thread: Jean and Open Who: Jean Grey and Open What: Jean can't sleep. Insomnia's no fun. Where: School's kitchen When: August 14, very, very late evening, or August 15, 2009, very, very early morning, depending on how you look at it.
The insomnia that had been plaguing Jean for some time now was getting tiresome. But literally and figuratively. Luckily, she loved the work she did in the med lab and hoped, one day, to be able to attend medical school and become a full-fledged doctor. It was that adrenaline that kept her going, even when she'd only gotten two hours of sleep the night before. But, still, she knew it wasn't healthy.
She also knew that the dreams she was having when she did manage to sleep weren't normal. Brief flashes of her doing things that she didn't remember doing but that, somehow, seemed very, very real. And these dreams woke her up... and kept her awake. It was difficult to fall back to sleep with that kind of knot in her stomach.
As a result, as of late, Jean found herself, more often than not, nursing a cup of decaffeinated tea in the school's kitchen in the wee hours of the morning. And feeling sick to her stomach.
Which was the case right now, although she had her head leaning against one hand, with that arm's elbow resting against the tabletop, her other hand fidgeting with the the tea bag label. Sighing, Jean realized that she was resigning herself to another sleepless night.
