WHO: Erik, Brian, and Betsy
WHAT: Some bad news
WHEN: Thursday afternoon
WHERE: His office
School was out. Finals were over. It was very fortunate for Betsy and Brian that they hadn't flown home the night before. Erik hung up the telephone. He took a moment to think about what he might say before heading down the hall. The office door opened automatically for him without even a flick of his wrist.
He went to Brian's room first, knocking on the door. Brian came to answer it in pajama pants and a T-shirt. He gave the young mutant the opportunity to put jeans on before joining him in the hall. They walked up to Betsy's room next. Erik didn't have to read minds to guess how curious Brian was. He thought it best to wait until he had both twins.
Erik knocked.
